A. Paging /emailing shall be handled by the Alarm Notification Software package. The <br />system shall be designed to operate in an unattended mode. Under normal <br />operations, operators should have no need to constantly monitor or control the <br />system. The hours of unattended operation shall be adjustable at the SMS Server <br />Computer. <br />B. Alarm Notification System (ANS): The automatic alarm notification system shall be <br />provided and configured to notify operators of alarm conditions. <br />1. Delay: Upon detection of an alarm, the ANS shall wait 30 seconds before <br />activating the call out. The 30 second delay shall be user - changeable at the SMS <br />Server Computer. <br />2. Local Annunciation: Upon detection of an alarm, the ANS shall immediately <br />annunciate (locally on SMS Server Computer speakers) an alarm message <br />identifying the alarm condition. The message shall repeat at an operator <br />adjustable interval until acknowledged. <br />3. Operator List: Each operator, access code and contact information shall be <br />configured in the alarm notification system. <br />4. Notification: Notification options shall be configured as part of training. Refer to <br />section 17010 for training requirements. <br />3.7 SECURITY EQUIPMENT PANELS <br />A. A minimum of one Security Equipment Panel shall be provided for each of the four <br />sites. The Security Equipment Panels for the West Reservoir, Well 21 and Well 30 <br />shall be rated for outdoor installation. The Security Equipment Panel for the <br />Corporate Yard shall be rated for indoor installation. The panels shall house the <br />Industrial Ethernet Switches, DC Power Supplies, UPS, Relays, Circuit Breakers and <br />Terminal Blocks. Additional Security Equipment Panels shall be supplied as required <br />to assure that each Ethernet Cable segment length is no longer than 100 meters. <br />The location of each Security Equipment Panel is to be determined by the <br />CONTRACTOR. <br />3.8 COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM <br />A. The local communications system for each site shall be by the CONTRACTOR. The <br />local communications system for the West Reservoir, Well 21 and Well 30 sites shall <br />consist of STP Ethernet cable connecting each camera to the Industrial Ethernet <br />Switch(s) located in each site's Security Equipment Panel(s). The local <br />communications system for the Corporate Yard site shall consist of CAT6 Ethernet <br />cable connecting the SMS Server Computer to the Industrial Ethernet Switch located <br />in the Security Equipment Panel. <br />B. The broadband Wide Area Network (WAN) communications system connecting the <br />four sites shall be provided by the CONTRACTOR. The CONTRACTOR shall <br />coordinate with the phone company to secure three T1 broadband phone lines at <br />each of the four project sites in the City and supply and install all necessary <br />equipment to accomplish the communications paths. <br />- END OF SECTION - <br />City of Santa Ana Security Management System Specific Requirements <br />Security Management System Project Page 17100 -18 <br />SantaAna_SMS_17100 <br />
