The 47,000 square foot facility houses the Santa Ana W/O/R/K Center <br />and serves over 9,000,000 commuters annually. The water boiler that <br />provides heat and hot water to passengers and building tenants is over <br />twenty years old and requires replacement. The contract will include <br />removal of the existing boiler as well as installation and testing of the <br />new unit. <br /> <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on December 4 and 6, 2006, and bids <br />were solicited. A summary of the bid invitations and bids received is as <br />follows: <br /> <br />3 Invitations For Bid mailed <br />1 Bid mailed to Santa Ana vendors <br />1 Bid received from a Santa Ana Vendor <br /> <br />Bids were received and opened on December 18, 2006. The bid received from <br />Chandler's Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, a Santa Ana vendor, is <br />responsive to the specification and meets the City's requirements. To <br />allow for unanticipated requirements, a ten percent contingency has been <br />included in the award amount. <br /> <br />22H-1 <br />
