Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and <br />the Clerk of the Council to approve a Memorandum of Agreement between <br />the City of Santa Ana Police Department, the City of Westminster, and <br />the Community Services Program (CSP) for the purpose of impacting <br />Human Trafficking. <br /> <br />2. Approve an Appropriation Adjustment accepting United states Department <br />of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance, 2006 Human Trafficking Task <br />Force Program Grant funds of $26,000 in revenue account (account no. <br />127-01-5362) and appropriate the same to expenditure account (account <br />no. 127-359-various). <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The United states Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance has <br />awarded the Westminster Police Department a 2006 Human Trafficking Task <br />Force Program Grant in the amount of 197,439. The Grant funding will <br />support the activities of the Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force <br />(OCHTTF). As a participating member, the Santa Ana Police Department will <br />receive $26,000 in grant funds for overtime and training related to the <br />Task Force activities. Staff recommends approval of the recommended <br />actions as the Task Force posi ti vely impacts the community by directly <br />aiding in the efforts to eliminate human trafficking. <br /> <br />20A-1 <br />
