<br />portions of the City could experience moderate seismic shaking <br />impacts. However, the seismic risks in Santa Ana are similar to <br />other areas in the southern Californian region. Additionally, <br />according to the General Plan Land Use Element EIR, the <br />potential for liquefaction hazards within the City ranges from <br />very low to very high. <br /> <br />Approval of the proposed amendment to the Municipal Code to <br />establish an ordinance for the regulation of Big Box retail uses <br />would not increase the potential for seismic impacts, and <br />liquefaction impacts, in that the approval of proposed ordinance <br />would not involve the development of any structures that would <br />be subject to seismic shaking impacts or liquefaction hazards. <br />Through the conditional use permit process, future Big Box <br />retail uses implemented under the proposed ordinance would be <br />evaluated for potential seismic risks. <br /> <br />B. Would the project result in substantial soil erosion or the <br />loss of topsoil? <br /> <br />No Impact <br /> <br />Approval of the proposed amendment to the Municipal Code to <br />establish an ordinance for the regulation of Big Box retail uses <br />would not result in or increase the potential for soil erosion <br />or sedimentation impacts, in that the approval of the proposed <br />ordinance would not involve any activities that would disturb <br />soils. Through the conditional use permit process, future Big <br />Box retail uses implemented under the proposed ordinance would <br />be evaluated for potential soil erosion impacts and would be <br />subject to the City's erosion control requirements. <br /> <br />c. Would the project result in the loss of a unique geological <br />feature? <br /> <br />No Impact <br /> <br />According to the City's General Plan Land Use Element EIR there <br />are no known geological hazards or unique geologic features in <br />the City. Therefore, approval of the proposed amendment to the <br />Municipal Code to establish an ordinance for the regulation of <br />Big Box retail uses would not result in the loss of any unique <br />geologic features. <br /> <br />D.
