Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager <br />and Clerk of the Council to execute a cooperative agreement with the <br />Orange County Transportation Authority in an amount not to exceed <br />$200,000 to conduct the City of Santa Ana Regional Transportation <br />Center City-Initiated Transit Extensions to Metrolink Studies in <br />partnership with the City of Costa Mesa. <br />2. Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager <br />and Clerk of the Council to execute a cooperative agreement with the <br />City of Costa Mesa to create a partnership and to designate Santa <br />Ana as the lead agency in the City-Initiated Transit Extensions to <br />Metrolink Studies. <br />3. Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager <br />and Clerk of the Council to execute an amendment to the agreement <br />with Parsons Brinckerhoff in an amount not to exceed $200,000 to <br />conduct the City-Initiated Transit Extensions to Metrolink Studies. <br />4. Approve an appropriation adjustment recognizing $200,000 in <br />unanticipated Measure M Transit funds in account no. 32-01-5053, and <br />appropriate same to the City-Initiated Transit Extensions to <br />Metrolink Studies project account no. 32-551-6631, project no. 06- <br />2502. <br />DISCUSSION <br />On October 14, 2005, the OCTA Board of Directors approved a package of <br />projects as a substitute for the Centerline Project that would satisfy <br />the air quality goals established for rapid transit projects.
