NO. 06-187) <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 1s' Reading <br />^ Ordinance on Intl Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Award a contract to Generator Services Co., Inc., for generator maintenance <br />for a two-year period with provision for two, one-year renewals in an <br />annual amount not to exceed $25,000. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Building Maintenance Division of the Finance & Management Services <br />Agency is responsible for maintenance and repair of various City buildings. <br />The diesel and gas powered backup generators located at the City Hall, <br />Corporation Yard, Police Administration Building, and ten fire stations are <br />critical for maintaining essential operations during an emergency. The <br />generators require regularly scheduled maintenance and load testing to <br />ensure the equipment will be operational when necessary. The contract will <br />provide for an annual comprehensive inspection and semi-annual preventive <br />maintenance service to the generators. <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on December 11 and 13, 2006, and <br />bids were solicited. A summary of the bid invitations and bids received is <br />as follows: <br />7 Invitations For Bid mailed <br />4 Bids received <br />Bids were received and opened on December 28, 2006, and evaluated (Exhibit <br />1) The bid received from Generator Services Co., Inc., is responsive to <br />the specification and meets the City's requirements.
