C- 6-0692 <br />BETWEEN <br />ORANGE COUNTY TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY <br />AND <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA <br /> <br />FOR <br />CITY-INITIATED TRANSIT EXTENSIONS TO METROLlNK <br /> <br />THIS AGREEMENT is made and entered into this <br /> <br />day of <br /> <br />* <br />200;\', by and between the Orange County Transportation Authority, 550 South Main Street, P.O. <br /> <br />Box 14184, Orange, California 92863-1584, a public corporation of the State of California <br /> <br />(hereinafter referred to as "AUTHORITY"), acting on behalf of the Orange County Local <br />Transportation Authority, and the City of Santa Ana, 20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, California, <br /> <br />92701, a municipal corporation and charter city duly organized and existing under the constitution <br /> <br /> <br />and laws of the State of California (hereinafter referred to as "CITY"). <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, AUTHORITY considers its railroad lines linking Los Angeles and San Diego <br />Counties and the Inland Empire to be the core of Orange County's future rail transit system; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, CITY and AUTHORITY wish to work as partners to develop a community-based <br /> <br />transit vision that increases use of Metrolink by Santa Ana residents, visitors, and/or employees; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the funds allocated through this program must comply with the 1990 Measure M <br />ordinance which states in part that the intent is to provide matching funds to encourage development <br /> <br />of extensions to major activity centers and providing access between the primary rail system and <br /> <br />employment centers; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, CITY is encouraged to enter into written agreements with other cities to <br /> <br />collaborate in some or all facets of a planning and needs assessment to support this vision; and <br /> <br />Page 1 of 13 <br />
