REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />FEBRUARY 20, 2007 <br />TITLE: <br />AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT <br />A-2004-053 WITH ACCO <br />ENGINEERED SYSTEMS <br />~~ <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 1s' Reading <br />^ Ordinance on Intl Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and the <br />Clerk of the Council to amend agreement A-2004-053 with ACCO Engineered <br />Systems, Inc., to extend the term through fiscal year end and increase the <br />amount by $38,000, for a total amount not to exceed $103,000. <br />DISCUSSION <br />In April 2004, the City of Santa Ana entered into an agreement with ACCO <br />Engineered Systems, Inc., for preventive maintenance and repairs of air <br />conditioning and heating systems at various City buildings. These <br />facilities include the Police Administration and Holding Facility, City <br />Hall, Ross Annex, libraries, senior centers, fire stations, and Corporation <br />Yard. <br />The amendment will allow for the completion of several projects and extend <br />the term of the agreement through June 30, 2007. Included are the repair <br />of an evidence freezer and boiler inspections of an air conditioning system <br />for the Fire Department's computer server room, and the installation of a <br />radiant heater at the Corporation Yard. The recommended action will allow <br />for uninterrupted service while proposals for another long-term agreement <br />are solicited. <br />25D-1 <br />
