Keefe Group and KCN have <br />been servicing the commissaryneeds of the corrections industry since 1974:, In our 32 year history Keefe <br />Group and KCN have become the leading manufacturers and distributors to the correctional commissary <br />market, serving over 1,130- Institutions nationwide. Responsive customer service, high quality products, <br />and value have been the key reasons why customers value our bfferings above those of our competitors. <br />Keefe currently operates 14 distribution centers totaling 1;429,000 square feet, shipping over 18 million <br />pounds of inventory per 11 <br />montiy and carrying over $64 million in inventory daily. We inventory and offer <br />over 5,000 products specifically designed for consumption and use in the correctional environment; more <br />commissary products than allother commissary vendors combined, in the correctional commissary <br />industry. <br />KCN is a provider of out-sourced/pndatized correctional commissaries. Since January 1993, KCN has <br />partnered with 572 correctional facrhtieslvith 345,315 inmates in 40 states. KCN sales for 2005 reached <br />over $159 million. The facilities we service range m populations from 20 to 79,000 plus inmates. Our <br />concept is to create a system that is flexible, easy to use, yet sophisticated enough to manage any <br />correctional environment. KCN is organized solely for the purpose of providing commissary services such <br />as those required in this RFP. KCN offers superior technology, services and product value. In the past few <br />years, KCN has been chosen to provide commissary services to more facilities than all other commissary <br />service providers combined. KCN is the largest supplier ofprivatized commissary operations in the <br />United States. KCN services 572 facilities across the country and serves more inmates than all of our <br />competitors combined, partnering with over 50% of the out -sourced correctional commissary inmates <br />nationally. No vendor is more prepared for the needs and requirements of the City than KCN. <br />KCN is the correctional commissary industry leader due to our dedication and service levels we provide to <br />our partner facilities. KCN has provided, in the body of this proposal, several facilities that have chosen <br />KCN as their preferred commissary provider even though KCN did not provide the highest return to the <br />Inmate Welfare Fund (IWF). KCN will provide the City the ability to customize our commissary program <br />and technology to meet the specific needs of the City and will provide the following unique <br />products/services to the City: <br />➢ KCN is offering the City of Santa Ana a 40.5% return to the City. <br />➢ Automated phone time solution with current and future phone solution provider. <br />➢ Electronic payment service allowing funds to be deposited into the inmates account by family <br />and friends. Eliminating the need for the City of Santa Ana to every have to physically touch \\\ <br />incoming deposits again, thus reducing labor and salaries from the Department. �G��Q <br />Lei <br />
