KCN RFP #06-151
KCN Quality Statement
KCN is committed to providing quality service and products to our customers. We
support this commitment with the following KCN facts:
Keefe Commissary Network's exceptional growth is directly tied to our
specialization in providing quality products and services to inmate commissary only.
KCN's ONLY business and ONLY customers are correctional commissaries. KCN
focuses on our customer/partners quality requirements to meet the unique needs of
the inmates. Because KCN's sole business is commissary services, and not dining,
we do not have a conflict of interest.
A vendor who provides both food serviceand'commissary has a direct conflict of
food service.meals,and providing poor quality
interest. By driving down the cost of
and taste, it provides an incentive for the inmates to purchase additional
commissary. KCNI is the best choice in commissary with no, stake in either staff
kitchen or inmate food services.
KCN service and dehYer' of orders from our local.warebbuse.as compared to an
onsite operation1i►aal advantages.
➢ KCN will provide a more secure operation by being minimally invasive to
➢ tWith one driver entering one_sally port once a week to drop off orders and
retrieve empty carts; the City will have less commissary staff entering and
leaving the facility.
➢ KCN will not pull orders on site, this -will have animmediate positive impact
for on site security and reduce the City einployge's time'm managing secure
entrances and exits. This will reduce the number of daily delivery trucks.
➢ Reduction in daily deliveries also means a reduction in delivery drivers.
This will:
1. Eliminate possible inventory theft
2. Diminish contraband opportunities being introduced in the secure
environment
3. Reduce background checks and security clearances
➢ KCN will process orders at our secure warehouse. This will be benefit the
City as follows:
• Order fulfillment will not invade the kitchen area
• Inventory control at the facility will be dining inventory only
• Reduce City employees - correctional officers monitoring
additional inventory and inmate interaction
• Refocuses kitchen/dining operations to only one task
