COMMENTS <br /> <br />90.B. <br /> <br />Diane Acevedo alleged she had been provided insufficient notice in order <br />to prepare a response to the moratorium on drive-through facilities in the <br />Central Business-Artist Village Zone (Item 75.C.). Mayor Pulido responded <br />to Acevedo's questions regarding development of a restaurant on the <br />northwest corner of First and Main Streets. <br /> <br />Florence Leach congratulated the Clerk of the Council on her upcoming <br />retirement, thanked Public Works Agency Executive Director Jim Ross for <br />recommending a "no build" alternative regarding light rail, suggested <br />Measure M funds for light rail be used for street repairs, and urged the <br />audience to remember Pearl Harbor Day on December 7. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Moreno <br />· stated that Study Sessions should be held in the Council Chambers; <br />· noted that the City had insufficient funds for the Delhi Community <br /> Center but sufficient monies to attract the Orange County High School <br /> of the Arts to the City, and opined that discussing the property <br /> negotiations for the High School in Closed Session was inappropriate; <br />· asked staff to investigate advertising on trash cans at La Mexicana <br /> Market, a tree complaint on Orange Avenue and the replacement date <br /> for a tree removed on McClay Street, an automotive repair shop at 5th <br /> and Fairlawn that had been "tagged" by the F Troop, and refrigerator <br /> sales from the back of a pick-up truck in his neighborhood; and <br />· urged residents to call him with any complaints at 836-0334. <br /> <br />Councilmember Bist <br />· thanked the Clerk of the Council for her service to the City (echoed by <br /> each of the Councilmembers in turn); <br />· reminded the audience to attend the French Park "Holiday" Historic <br /> Home Tour the weekend of December 11; and <br />· reported a 99¢ Store at Bristol and Warner in Santa Ana was <br /> advertising its location as "Costa Mesa" and requested staff to <br /> investigate. <br /> <br />Councilmember Lutz <br />· wished everyone Happy Holidays and New Millennium and urged <br /> everyone to drive safely. <br /> <br />Councilmember McGuiqan <br />· expressed indignation that "Bed, Bath and Beyond" in south Santa Ana <br /> was also advertising its business as being located in Costa Mesa and <br /> asked staff to investigate steps to correct the misleading <br /> advertisement. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 411 DECEMBER 6, 1999 <br /> <br /> <br />
