<br />JS/JWF (2/15/07) <br /> <br />ORDI NANCE <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AMENDING SECTIONS 2- <br />325, 2-450 AND 2-451 OF THE SANTA ANA <br />MUNICPAL CODE MODIFYING THE <br />APPOINTMENT PROCESS AND QUALIFICATIONS <br />FOR MEMBERSHIP ON THE YOUTH <br />COMMISSION. <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, <br />determines and declares as follows: <br /> <br />A. The City Council believes it is important that the Youth Commission <br />members represent a broad cross-section of the youth population of <br />the City. The Council also desires to increase the experience level of <br />the members and to foster greater continuity of membership on the <br />Commission. <br /> <br />B. In order to accomplish the above stated goals, the Council desires to <br />amend section 2-451 of the Municipal Code to set different age limit of <br />alternate members of the Commission to permits students up to 20 <br />years of age to serve, to provide for City Council appointment of <br />associate members, and to provide compensation for associate <br />members. <br /> <br />C. All provisions of the Santa Ana Municipal Code which are repeated <br />herein are repeated solely in order to comply with the provisions of <br />Section 418 of the Charter of the City of Santa Ana. Any such <br />restatement of existing provisions of the Code is not intended, nor shall <br />it be interpreted, as constituting a new action or decision of the City <br />Council, but rather such provisions are repeated for tracking purposes <br />only in conformance with the Charter. <br /> <br />Section 2.
