<br />URBAN DESIGN ELEMENT <br /> <br />. The Housing Element provides the policy direction for future housing <br />within Santa Ana. The Urban Design Element, together with the <br />Housing Element, will strive to create livable and aesthetically <br />appropriate projects. <br /> <br />Specific Plans and Overlay Zones <br /> <br />Certain areas of the City are unique and these areas lend themselves to the <br />development of a specific plan. Currently, specific plans have been prepared <br />for three areas of the City and include the Bristol Specific Plan, the North <br />Harbor Specific Plan, and the Midtown Specific Plan. These Specific Plans <br />advance General Plan policies to a higher level of detail not typically found in <br />a general plan element.
