REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />MARCH 19, 2007 <br />TITLE: <br />AGREEMENT WITH DECKSIDE POOL <br />SERVICE TO PROVIDE FOUNTAIN <br />MAINTENANCE SERVICES IN THE SANTA <br />ANA CIVIC CENTER <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 1~' Reading <br />^ Ordinance on 2ntl Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and <br />Clerk of the Council to execute a two-year agreement, with three one-year <br />renewal options, with Deckside Pool Service to provide fountain <br />maintenance in the Santa Ana Civic Center in an annual amount not to <br />exceed $83,250. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency is responsible for <br />the routine maintenance of the fountains located at the Plaza of the Sun, <br />Sasscer Park, and the Law Library within the Santa Ana Civic Center. The <br />current maintenance contract for this service has expired. <br />The notice inviting proposals was advertised on October 10, 2006, and a <br />request for proposals was solicited. A summary of the request for <br />proposal invitations and proposals received is as follows: <br />22 Request For Proposals mailed <br />5 Request For Proposals mailed to Santa Ana vendors <br />2 Proposals received <br />0 Proposals received from Santa Ana vendors <br />The proposals were received and opened on November 8, 2006. The two <br />firms that submitted proposals were Deckside Pool Service and Service <br />First Pool Service. Each proposal was evaluated based on the vendor's <br />capability and experience, past performances, and cost of proposal. The <br />evaluation results are as follows: <br />25G-1 <br />
