27 <br />WORK STUDY SESSION <br />Mayor Pro Tern Lutz recessed the meeting at 7:20 P.M <br />COUNCIL RECONVENED at 7:40 p.m. with all Councilmembers present <br />except Moreno and Pulido. <br />Community Development Agency District Manager Carol Berg briefed the <br />Council on the Minnie Street/Comerstone Village Improvement Project located <br />in east central Santa Ana between Standard Avenue (west) & a spur railroad <br />line (east); outlined the cooperative partnership between the City, the Owner <br />Association, individual property owners, and the community; specified areas <br />of responsibility with respect to improvements in the public right-of-way, <br />building facades and common areas; and delineated what various <br />improvements would cover. <br />Councilmembers discussed the details and impacts of the proposed project <br />and noted that this was an exciting project which should result in tremendous <br />improvements in that area. <br />Councilmember Franklin left the meeting at 8:10 p.m <br />COMMENTS <br />90.A. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />• Seferino Garcia, Jose Ventura, Al Aguilar, Rudy Escalante, and Jeffry <br />Pilch all addressed Council and recommended that the City of Santa <br />Ana consider naming a major street in honor of Cesar Chavez so that <br />his work will be remembered. <br />Mayor Pro Tern Lutz directed the Executive Director of the Public <br />Works Agency to review this matter and to report back to Council with <br />recommendations. <br />90.B. COUNCIL COMMENTS <br />Councilmember McGuigan <br />• Noted that the Riverview West Neighborhood Association had inquired <br />about a potential safety hazard due to overflow parking provided for <br />businesses near the Harbor/Kent intersection, and requested that the <br />Executive Director of the Public Works Agency review this matter, and <br />report back to Council. <br />Mayor Pro Tern Lutz <br />• Asked the Executive Director of the Planning and Building Agency to <br />investigate a possible code enforcement violation on property located <br />on South Bristol Street. <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 26 JANUARY 18, 2000 <br />
