M. <br />COMMENTS <br />Mayor Pro Tern Lutz <br />• Commented on the success of the Exhibit shown at the Bowers <br />Museum entitled "Secret World of the Forbidden City: Splendors of <br />China's Imperial Palace", and noted that this was the first time such an <br />exhibit has been shown in the United States. <br />Thanked the Public Works Agency for fixing the overhead lights in the <br />breezeway leading to the Council Chambers. <br />Councilmember Christy <br />• Presented a plaque to the Mayor from the Mission With Benevolence <br />Foundation commending the City for sponsoring the Black History <br />Parade. <br />Announced that the Orange County Diversity Awareness Forum formed <br />by the African American and Jewish communities meets every fourth <br />Monday of the month, and reported that six Ethiopian Jewish students <br />were coming to Orange County to learn about the African American <br />experience. <br />• Asked the Director of the Parks, Recreation and Community Services <br />Agency to present an update on the Youth 2000 event to be held on <br />March 19, 2000. <br />Congratulated the Director of the Finance and Management Services <br />Agency on his presentation on the investment program. <br />Councilmember Franklin <br />Encouraged residents to take their families to visit the exhibit at Bowers <br />Museum since they may not get another chance to see this display. <br />• Announced that Santa Ana Police Department Captain Daniel McCoy <br />would give a presentation at a future Council meeting relative to the A-4 <br />Skyhawk Project which is an aircraft monument to be constructed as <br />a lasting tribute to the former presence of the United States Marine <br />Corps in Orange County.
