Noted that five Councilmembers were in Washington D.C. in <br />conjunction with the National League of Cities and attended several <br />workshops and also were given valuable advice on how to lobby <br />federal representatives <br />. Announced that the annual Celebration of Cesar Chavez would be held <br />at Campesino Park on March 24, 2007 <br /> <br />Councilmember Martinez <br />. Noted that she attended workshops on public safety while in <br />Washington D.C. <br />. Announced that the first meeting of the Early Prevention and <br />Intervention Commission was scheduled for Wednesday, March 28, <br />2007 at the Police Community Room <br />. Noted that thirty eight residents recently graduated from the Fire <br />Department CERT program <br /> <br />Council member Tinaiero <br />. Noted that he also was in Washington D. C. with other <br />Councilmembers representing the City, and he had the opportunity to <br />lobby Senator Feinstein on the City's behalf <br /> <br />Councilmember Benavides <br />. Thanked the non-profit organizations that advocated on behalf of their <br />respective organizations, and noted that non-profit organizations are a <br />vital component of the Santa Ana community <br />.
