NO. 07-035) <br />v -~- <br />ITY ANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 1s` Reading <br />^ Ordinance on 2n° Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Award a contract to Bob Stall Chevrolet for the purchase of one stake bed <br />truck in the amount of $36,500.32; and increase the aggregate limit for <br />miscellaneous vehicle parts in an amount not to exceed $5,000 annually. <br />The Fleet Maintenance Division's annual Equipment Replacement Program is <br />included in the City's annual budget, and identifies vehicles scheduled for <br />replacement. Funding is monitored through a depreciation schedule <br />established with each department. Additionally, the Fleet Division reviews <br />the acquisition in accordance with the City's Hybrid and Alternative Fuel <br />Vehicle Acquisition Policy. Currently, hybrid vehicles are not available <br />in the large truck category. <br />The Fire Department uses a stake bed truck, modified with a bottle storage <br />compartment, to transport refilled oxygen bottles administered by <br />paramedics to assist patients and refilled breathing apparatus bottles used <br />by firefighters. Additionally, the truck is used to pick up supplies and <br />move equipment. Due to age, mileage above 100,000 miles and condition, the <br />current 1996 GMC truck has been approved for replacement in the current <br />fiscal year. <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on March 9 and 12, 2007, and bids <br />were .solicited.
