Yoon <br />Leah Llanes <br />Certificate of Recognition presented by COUNCILMEMBER FRANKLIN to Michael J. <br />Holzman in recognition of his invaluable service on the Environmental and <br />Transportation Advisory Committee <br />SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS <br />Youth Commission accomplishments: Ms. Melody Gonzalez, Chair, Youth <br />Commission, presented an overview of the Commission's accomplishments in its <br />first six months of operation. <br />A4 Skvhawk Proiect: Councilmember Franklin introduced Santa Ana Police Captain <br />Dan McCoy who briefed the Council relative to the history of the memorial and the <br />goal of creating a lasting tribute to the men and women who worked and served at <br />the El Toro Marine Base in Orange County. Captain McCoy explained that the A4 <br />Skyhawk plane would be placed on a pedestal in the War Memorial area of the <br />Santa Ana Civic Center. He also noted that there would be a concentric ring of <br />bricks bearing the names of individual donors of the project. <br />Fiestas Patrias: Mayor Pulido introduced Dr. Arturo Lomeli and Teresa Saldivar of <br />the Santa Ana Downtown Association who presented a promotional video on the <br />annual Fiestas Patrias, celebrating Mexican Independence Day, which will be held <br />this year on September 15, 16, and 17, 2000. <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br />236 <br />AUGUST 7, 2000 <br />
