Deckside Pool Service was founded over 25 years ago, and has grown into well respected
service company with total revenues just under $1,000,000 a year. We are an equal
opportunity employer, and believe in hiring industry experienced technicians with the
objective of retaining through opportunity and a well-developed mentor -based on the job
training program. Our current staff size varies between twelve (winter staffing) and
seventeen (summer staffing) employees. Our uniformed technicians are Deckside employees,
not sub -contractors. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and reliable.
2. Training and safety precautions taken to perform specifications
We utilize service teams led by experienced senior staff who trains specifically to the equipment
at each job site. We utilize a quality control inspector to independently visit and evaluate the
team's performance on a bi-monthly basis; more frequently if needed. Our employees are
encouraged to perform their tasks well, and participate in a financial incentive program that
pays them dividends for excellent work each quarter.
IMPORTANT NOTE: It is our opinion that the presence of the Cal -hypo feeders on the job
creates an unnecessary danger, and if the contract is awarded to Deckside, we will install high-
speed RolaChem liquid chlorine feeders at our own expense. The current Cal -hypo systems will
be disconnected; the existing equipment will not be removed or harmed in any way.
3. Contractor's financial ability to provide uninterrupted (landscape?) services throughout
the term of the agreement.
Our annual revenues are just under $1,000,000 per year, and our financial documents are strong.
The company is profitable, and has cash reserves plus available lines of credit for financing cash
flow and receivables if needed. We currently own a fleet of company vehicles (service trucks,
repair trucks and delivery trucks) that meet the needs of the contract. We currently employ
sufficient staff to meet the needs of the contract.
4. Experience of lead worker and maintenance staff assigned to the contract
The team assigned to the city project will be led by Mike Hernandez, a senior technician who
has had over 35 years experience in the commercial pool service business. Arturo Gomez and
David Lopez will share the responsibilities of performing the daily maintenance on the
fountains; they are trusted employees who currently provide services to our best accounts.
Carolyn Butler will perform the quality control inspections; she has served as our warehouse
manager and is very knowledgeable of all equipment and chemistry relating to this project. All
employees four employees mentioned here have proven to be hardworking, knowledgeable,
loyal, trustworthy and dependable members of our staff.
5. Experience of supervisory and management staff assigned to the contract.
Ken Hirsh will be the technical lead to the team; he will perform the initial training of all team
members with regard to equipment operation. He will continue to be available to the team and
will perform any high level diagnostics required on the equipment. Ken has a long history in
the industry, has worked his way up the ranks from a pool cleaning technician to a senior
repair technician in his 20 years in the industry. He will be supported by Fred Ross, company
