Vendor: <br /> <br />Location: <br /> <br />Amount: <br /> <br />Adamson Industries <br />Orange County Auto Parts <br /> <br />Costa Mesa <br />Santa Ana <br /> <br />$40,000 <br />$30,000 <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Fleet Maintenance Division of the Finance and Management Services <br />Agency. regularly replaces miscellaneous automotive parts as part of the <br />preventative maintenance program for City vehicles. The parts are <br />purchased and inventoried at the City's Corporate Yard by Fleet Maintenance <br />Personnel. Non-stock items are ordered on an as-needed basis. The <br />contracts allow for automotive parts replacement as required. <br /> <br />On April 7, 2003, the City Council awarded contracts to the above listed <br />vendors for a two-year period, with provision for three one-year renewals. <br />The vendors have agreed to the final renewal option to the contracts, with <br />Orange County Auto Parts agreeing to renew the contract without an increase <br />in pricing. Adamson Industries product lines have been impacted by <br />increases in raw materials including plastic and steel, resulting in a <br />range of price increases up to seven percent. <br /> <br />The Adamson Industries contract is increasing to cover vehicle <br />provided to convert new Police sedans to fleet specifications under <br />sole source contracts with specific manufacturers.
