CONSENT CALENDAR <br />To allow a 40-space parking lot in the two-family residential parking suffix <br />(R2B) zoning district at the property located at 504-510 South Cypress <br />Street <br />Recommended for approval by the Planning Commission on June 25, <br />2001 by a 6-0 vote (Richardson absent) <br />AoDlicant: Howard Glasser for La Canasta Furniture <br />Councilmember Bist stated that she had concerns relative to the design of <br />the walls for this project and would recommend modifications to the <br />construction of the walls including a 6' block wall to be constructed on <br />Cypress and a three foot wall with no wrought iron fence to be constructed <br />on the Myrtle Street side. Following advice from the City Attorney that the <br />City Council could not amend this project, Councilmember Bist moved, <br />seconded by Councilmember Solorio that the matter be referred back to <br />the Planning Commission for further review. <br />Councilmember Solorio asked staff why they made the original <br />recommendation relative to the height of the walls; he further requested <br />that a discussion relative to the issues raised concerning this matter be <br />placed on the next available agenda for the South Main Improvement Plan _ <br />Committee. <br />Motion: Remand matter to the Planning Commission to reconsider the <br />project. <br />R. <br />MOTION: Bist SECOND: Solorio <br />VOTE: AYES: Alvarez, Bist, Christy, Franklin, McGuigan, <br />Solorio (6) <br />NOES: None (0) <br />ABSENT: Pulido (1) <br />To appeal the Zoning Administrator's Action not to allow a Type 21 <br />Alcoholic Beverage Control License for off -premise consumption located <br />at 3430 South Bristol Street <br />Recommended for approval by the Planning Commission on June 25, <br />2001 by a 6-0 vote (Richardson absent) <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 276 JULY 16, 2001 <br />
