WITH ALL MEMBERS PRESENT <br />Councilmember Franklin left the meeting at 8:00 P.M. <br />COMMENTS <br />90.A. PUBLIC COMMENTS - None <br />90.B. CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br />Councilmember Christy <br />• Thanked Lorraine Lazarine, Parks, Recreation and Community <br />Services Agency for organizing the City of Santa Ana team for the <br />American Cancer Society "Relay for Life" held on July 14 and 15 at <br />Santa Ana College <br />• Announced that she attended the Santa Ana Spectacular - Drum and <br />Bugle Corps at Santa Ana Stadium on Sunday, July 15, 2001 <br />Councilmember Solorio <br />• Asked the City Attorney for an update on issues relating to ice cream <br />vendors in the City. Joe Fletcher, City Attorney related that the current <br />regulations requiring the posting of $ 1 million in insurance is not <br />enforceable due to state preemption, and that the City is currently <br />reviewing the entire ordinance <br />Councilmember Alvarez <br />• Asked staff to look into the feasibility of the City purchasing the <br />property for sale by Victory Outreach on North Jackson Street and <br />additionally using property at 1402 Parton for affordable housing. <br />• Stated that she also attended the performance by the Drum Corps on <br />Sunday at the Santa Ana Stadium and that this was a great event <br />• Asked staff to seek grants from the State of California for Technology <br />projects <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 280 JULY 16, 2001 <br />
