FOR AUDIO- <br />VISUAL EQUIPMENT AND <br />INSTALLAT <br />CI Y MANA <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 1 ~' Reading <br />^ Ordinance on 2n° Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and the <br />Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement with Troxell Communications, <br />Inc. to provide and install audio-visual equipment and software in an amount <br />not to exceed $133,000 for the expansion of Santa Ana's Technological <br />Approach to Target Responses Against Crime process. <br />DISCUSSION <br />On December 19, 2005, the City Council accepted the COPS 2005 Technology <br />Grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented <br />Policing. The grant award funds specific technology expansions to enhance <br />Santa Ana's Technological Approach To Target Responses Against Crime (STAT- <br />TRAC) by equipping the field officer Roll Call Room and the Community Room <br />with the same technology and equipment currently utilized in the STAT-TRAC <br />room. The new equipment will provide field officers with vital information <br />such as current crime patterns, trends and statistics. <br />On April 4, 2007, requests for proposal (RFP) were sent to 12 vendors. On <br />May 16, 2007, two proposals were received and evaluated for compliance with <br />minimum requirements, overall responsiveness to the RFP, ease of equipment <br />operation, experience and references, technical proposal, and total project <br />cost (Exhibit 1). The proposal from Troxell Communications, Inc. was <br />responsive and meets the City's requirements. An additional contingency <br />amount of $22,123 is included to allow for unanticipated purchases. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds are available in the COPS 2005 Technology Grant fund (account no. 127- <br />357-6291). <br />' APPROVED AS TO FUNDS AND ACCOUNTS: <br />t % /~ ~1, <br />:~f'^Pau"1 M.
