The Logan <br />Neighborhood is located just west of Interstate 5 and south of <br />Seventeenth Street. It borders Historic French Park Neighborhood on the <br />west and the Regional Transportation Center on the south. Logan Park is <br />rectangular in shape and is approximately .41 acres in size (Exhibits 1 <br />and 2). <br />On August 26, 2006, the Logan Neighborhood Association discussed the re- <br />naming of Logan Park to Chepa's Park in recognition of the late <br />Josephine "Chepa" Andrade. On March 17, 2007, the Parks, Recreation and <br />Community Services Agency received a formal letter from the Logan <br />Neighborhood Association requesting the park name be changed to "Chepa's <br />Park" (Exhibit 3). <br />Josephine "Chepa" Andrade lived her entire life in the Logan <br />Neighborhood and many residents in the area referred to her as "Chepa". <br />She was an advocate for neighborhood improvement and was involved in <br />forming the Logan Neighborhood Committee that stopped the rezoning of <br />this small neighborhood into an industrial area. She was also involved <br />in the community building of Logan Park and received many recognitions <br />E~~T_,~ <br />
