Award a contract to Bond Blacktop, Inc., the lowest responsible <br />bidder, for base bid plus bid alternate two in accordance with unit <br />bid prices in the estimated amount of $1,002,270 for the construction <br />of Citywide Slurry Seal Project. <br />2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost of <br />$1,252,800. <br />The Public Works Agency maintains the Pavement Management System that <br />contains street pavement condition data inventory. Based on this system, <br />certain streets have been identified for preventative maintenance to stop <br />further deterioration (Exhibit 1). Bid alternate two provides for <br />application of rubberized asphalt slurry, which is similar to <br />conventional slurry but uses rubber as an additional aggregate. Once <br />completed, these improvements will increase pavement life and enhance the <br />appearance of these streets. Approximately 30 miles of residential <br />streets will be slurry sealed <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on May 9 and 11, 2007, and bids <br />were opened on May 23, 2007.
