Award a contract to Christopher R. Morales, Inc., the lowest <br />responsible bidder, in accordance with unit bid prices in the <br />estimated amount of $329,600 for Adaptive Downtown Signal System <br />Phase IV. <br />2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost <br />of $412,000. <br />DISCUSSION <br />This is the final phase of four phases to upgrade the City's outdated <br />traffic signal control system and traffic signal equipment in the <br />Downtown area (Exhibit 1). This project will upgrade the traffic signal <br />system communication infrastructure, replace cabinets and controllers, <br />and install video detection systems at various locations in the downtown <br />area. The completed system will enable the City to monitor and make <br />adjustments to traffic signals based on real time information. <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on May 4 and 7, 2007, and bids <br />were opened on May 23, 2007.
