NO. 04-056) <br />~V-"'"_ <br />TY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 1s` Reading <br />^ Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Renew the contract with JFK Transportation to provide transportation <br />services for the Senior Centers for a one-year period in an annual amount <br />not to exceed $35,000. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Recreation and Community Services Agency (PRCSA) provides a full scope <br />of senior services, including health and fitness classes, volunteer <br />opportunities, medical and legal consultations, and home delivered and on- <br />site meal programs. Additionally, PRCSA arranges daily transportation <br />services between Senior's homes and the City's Senior Centers including <br />daily shopping trips and monthly excursions to local venues. The vehicles <br />make approximately 2,000 round trips a month and are specially designed to <br />accommodate individuals with disabilities. <br />On June 7, 2004, the City Council awarded a contract to JFK Transportation <br />for a two-year period with provision for three, one-year renewals. The <br />vendor has performed satisfactorily during the past contract period and has <br />agreed to renew the contract without an increase in pricing.
