General contracting services are required at times by <br />all City departments for the purposes of general maintenance, building <br />modifications, and renovation. The contract for general contracting <br />services will provide fixed pricing for multiple trades including <br />carpentry, concrete work, paper hanging, welding, suspended ceiling <br />installation, and sheet metal work for all City departments. Projects <br />identified for the next year include a remodel of the computer room and the <br />third floor lobby. <br />On June 6, 2005, the City Council awarded a contact to KCK Construction Co. <br />for a two-year period with provision for two, one-year renewals. The <br />vendor has performed satisfactorily during the past contract period and has <br />agreed to renew the contract without an increase in pricing.
