N0.07-060) <br />Cr~~ <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 1s' Reading <br />^ Ordinance on 2n° Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Award a contract to California Forensic Phlebotomy, Inc., for blood and <br />breath technician services for a two-year period, with provision for three, <br />one-year renewals in an annual amount not to exceed $80,000. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Santa Ana Police Department Forensics Division contracts with <br />California Forensic Phlebotomy, Inc., the current provider of blood and <br />breath technician services for all Orange County law enforcement agencies, <br />to provide blood alcohol level testing and analysis, drug content, blood <br />typing, and DNA testing. The testing is required for use as evidence in <br />the prosecution of criminal cases. California Forensic Phlebotomy, Inc., <br />has been providing service to the City since 1992, and has performed <br />satisfactorily during the past year. As a result, the Police Department <br />recommends Council approval of this action. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds are available in the Police Patrol Services Other Contractual <br />Services account (account no. 11-337-6291). <br />APPROVED AS TO FUNDS AND ACCOUNTS: <br />Paul M.
