WITH ALL COUNCILMEMBERS PRESENT <br /> <br />COMMENTS <br /> <br />90.A. <br /> <br />90.B. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Joseph Mulroy, Shirley Conger, Nancy Alston and Philip Arst spoke in <br />opposition to Measure W on the March 2002 ballot <br /> <br />Roy Alvarado expressed concern about police response to a recent <br />incident in the Santa Anita neighborhood <br /> <br />Desi Reyes thanked the Council and staff for the recent work on the City's <br />arterial streets and added that many neighborhood streets were in need of <br />repair <br /> <br />Gabriel Newhouse mentioned that his neighborhood was in the formation <br />stages for an approved neighborhood association <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Alvarez: <br />· Thanked the Human Relations Commission for their hard work in <br /> making recommendations for CDBG funding <br />· Also thanked all the applicants for CDBG funding <br />· Asked the City Manager to report on the status of locating the Court of <br /> Appeals in Santa Ana <br />· Encouraged residents to vote on March 5, 2002 <br />· Asked the Council to adjourn the meeting in honor of Cesar Chavez <br /> <br />Councilmember Christy: <br /> <br />· Thanked the Human <br /> <br /> Relations Commission for their efforts in <br />recommending CDBG funding for non-profit agencies and/or sub- <br />recipients <br />Asked Jon Ribble, Executive Director, Parks, Recreation and <br />Community Services Agency, to provide the Council and residents with <br />an update on the third annual Youth Expo to be held on March 17, <br />2002 <br />Noted that on February 23, 2002, the Police and Fire departments <br />were honored at the First Baptist Church <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 83 MARCH 4, 2002 <br /> <br /> <br />
