LAND USE ELEMENT <br />Goal 2.0 Promote land uses which enhance the City's economic and <br />fiscal viability. <br />Policy 2.1 Discourage the intrusion of commercial land uses in <br />industrial areas. <br />Policy 2.2 Support commercial land uses in adequate amounts to <br />accommodate the Citys needs for goods and services. <br />Policy 2.3 Encourage the location of child care facilities within <br />employment centers. <br />Policy 2.4 Support pedestrian access between commercial uses <br />and residential neighborhoods which are in close <br />proximity. <br />Policy 2.5 Balance the economic and fiscal benefits of commercial <br />development with its impacts on the quality of life in the <br />Clty. <br />Policy 2.6 Encourage the creation of new employment opportunities <br />in developments which are compatible with surrounding <br />land uses, and provide a net community benefit. <br />Policy 2.7 Support Projects that contribute to the redevelopment <br />and revitalization of the central city urban areas. <br />Policy 2.8 Promote rehabilitation of commercial and industrial <br />properties, and encourage increased levels of capital <br />investment. <br />Policy 2.9 Support developments that create a business <br />environment that is safe and attractive. <br />Policy 2.10 Support new development which is harmonious in scale <br />and character with existing development in the area. <br />Policy 2.11 Create Class A office space suitable for acquisition of <br />major, high profile tenant in the Downtown Development <br />Area. <br />Policy 2.12 Encourage large-scale office development with ancillary <br />retail in the proximity of the Civic Center Complex, <br />Downtown and Midtown urban areas. <br />Policy 2.13 Support regulations to attract and retain large and <br />growing commercial and industrial employers in Santa <br />Ana. <br />ReviSetl (June 18, 2007) <br />me r~»rar-o~rn so-aer <br />and Main Sheet eras the <br />first wmmercial lot sold in <br />the city (the lot sdtl for <br />$1@(b). <br />75A-11 <br />
