<br />SANTA ANA CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE <br />PUBLIC SAFETY <br />Minutes of Meeting <br />September 25, 2006 <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Due to the lack of a quorum, an information-only meeting was held in City Hall, 20 Civic <br />Center Plaza, 8th floor conference room, Santa Ana, California. <br /> <br />ATTENDANCE <br />Councilmembers present: Alberta Christy. Councilmembers Claudia Alvarez and Carlos <br />Bustamante absent. <br /> <br />Staff present: Assistant City Attorney Paula Coleman, Police Chief Paul Walters, Fire <br />Chief Phil Garcia, Fire Marshal Lori Smith, Jeff Talmage and Ben Gonzales of the Fire <br />Department <br /> <br />SUMMARY OF DISCUSSIONS <br /> <br />1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Approval of Minutes of the July 10, 2006 meeting was deferred until the next <br />scheduled meeting. <br /> <br />2. PARAMEDIC REVIEW <br />Fire Chief Garcia introduced Jeff Talmage and Ben Gonzales who reviewed the <br />history of the Santa Ana Paramedic Program. <br /> <br />3. FIREWORKS ORDINANCE REPORT <br />ACA Paula Coleman reviewed other cities' time restrictions on fireworks relating <br />to times of sales. <br /> <br />4. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />No public comments. <br /> <br />5. COMMITTEE MEMBER COMMENTS <br />No further comments. <br /> <br />6. ITEMS FOR NEXT MEETING <br />A.
