The vehicles, which operate a minimum of 8-12 <br />hours per day in urban conditions, are evaluated based on mileage, age and <br />increased downtime. As a result of this evaluation, 13 vehicles, the <br />remaining 1997 black and white and 12 vehicles purchased in 2000, have been <br />identified and approved for replacement for fiscal year 2007-2008. All <br />those identified for replacement are assigned to the patrol division. <br />Additionally, the Fleet Division reviews the acquisition in accordance with <br />the City's Hybrid and Alternative Fuel Vehicle Acquisition Policy. <br />Currently, hybrid vehicles are not available in the Full-size/Large class <br />category that includes the Ford Crown Victoria sedan. <br />Santa Ana City Ordinance No. NS-2312 authorizes the City to purchase <br />against contracts from any public agency utilizing a competitive bid <br />process. The County of Los Angeles contract with Wondries Fleet Group for <br />police patrol sedans was awarded as a result of open, competitive bidding, <br />and meets the City's requirements. <br />22F-1 <br />
