Description of Work - In the space below, describe the program to be funded during the 12-month contract period. <br />What specific activities will be undertaken during the contract period. Please be concise in your response. Only the <br />viewable space will print. <br />Provide adult mentors to high school seniors in the Santa Ana Unified School District. In addition to having mentors <br />the program provides guidance in the areas of careers, college and university applications. We also provide help in <br />tututoring, financial aid guidance and preparation of the students income tax forms. <br /> <br />City of Santa Ana <br />Scope of Work <br />Career Beginnings Mentor Program <br />Career Beginnings Mentor Program <br /> <br />We will have one monthly night meeting starting in June and continuing untill May of the following year. At each of <br />these meetings their is a presentation form colleges, business's, and motivation speakers to help the students in <br />possible college and career choices. In December each year we take the students to a Musical program at the <br />performing arts center so that the students can have a exposure tto the arts, <br /> <br />For the past 7 to 8 years we have given scholarships to the students in the program, each year the amount has been <br />a minimum of $ 5000 from donations from corporate and private individuals. <br /> <br />Success in shown in the fact that over 1600 students have participated in the program and we average (95%) <br />graduation and (94%) going on to some type of post secondary education program. <br /> <br />Schedule of Performace <br />Estimate the number of ONLY unduplicated Santa Ana residents to be served by the funded program during the 12- <br />month contract period per quarter. (Enter number of new Santa Ana clients served each quarter.
