Description of Work - In the space below, describe the program to be funded during the 12-month contract period. <br />What specific activities will be undertaken during the contract period. Please be concise in your response. Only the <br />viewable space will print. <br />The Infant Family Focus/Counseling program provides direct services to blind, visually impaired and deaf/blind babies, <br />birth to three years of age, and their families. Infant dvelopment specialists, occupational therapists, and counselors <br />make home visits to design and implement an individualized program for the baby. <br /> <br /> <br />Parents learn pratical skills to help in their babies development. They learn about the different ways blind babies learn <br />and how to encourage their baby to explore. Occupational therapists work with the baby so he/she will learn to <br />explore through senses other than sight. Counseling is available for parents to help them cope with the issues of <br />having a blind baby. <br /> <br />Funding from Santa Ana's CDBG program will help pay salaries of the staff directly involved with serving these <br />families. <br /> <br />Schedule of Performace <br />Estimate the number of ONLY unduplicated Santa Ana residents to be served by the funded program during the 12- <br />month contract period per quarter. (Enter number of new Santa Ana clients served each quarter.
