Description of Work - In the space below, describe the program to be funded during the 12-month contract period. <br />What specific activities will be undertaken during the contract period. Please be concise in your response. Only the <br />viewable space will print. <br />The International Arts and Education Project will provide 400 Santa Ana children ages 2 through 17 a multicultural <br />experience and education through the performing arts. <br /> <br />The CDBG funds will provide 80 ballet students to be placed under the project's Dance Examination and Certification <br />Program. These students will attend ballet exam classes 3 times a week in order for them to prepare for their annual <br />examinations under Cecchetti USA in April 2008. All Cecchetti ballet students will receive their certificates by the <br />Cecchetti USA in the academy's annual Tea Party Ceremony in May 2008, <br /> <br />The World Fusion Youth Ensemble Program will also be funded by CDBG. The funds will provide 50 children of ages <br />7 to 17 to attend classes 5 days a week in order to learn dances from around the world. These children will perform at <br />schools and events. Their goal is to teach other children about other ethnic groups and how different culturals have <br />in one way or another influenced another, <br /> <br />Students will commence their course in September 2007 and end it in July 2008. All students will perform in the <br />Academy of International Dance's Winter Recital, all Cecchetti Ballet dancers will perform in the academy's <br />"Nutcracker", and all students will perform in the Annual Recital "World Fusion 2008". During the summer, students <br />will receive free workshops of their choice in the Fiesta Marketplace. <br /> <br />Schedule of Performace <br />Estimate the number of ONLY unduplicated Santa Ana residents to be served by the funded program during the 12- <br />month contract period per quarter. (Enter number of new Santa Ana clients served each quarter.
