Sherri Gust is the Orange
County Certified Professional Archaeologist for the project. All key staff qualifications may be
viewed on our website at www.cogstone.com.
The HPSR work will follow the guidance provided in the Caltrans Standard Environmental
Reference, volume 2 on Cultural Resources and will meet Caltrans requirements. The work will
consist of a record search and literature review, Native American consultation, local historic
society consultation, research in the Orange County archives, a pedestrian survey and a results
report with appropriate mitigation recommendations.
Our proposal assumes the City will provide us with assessor/building department information
consisting of a list of buildings within 1/4 mile of the bike trail alignment including their dates of
construction and alteration. While not anticipated, it is possible that buildings older than 50
years are within the area of project effect and would require evaluation by an architectural
historian. This would be handled as a contingency.
A search for records of known archaeological and historical sites will be requested from the
South Central Coastal Information Center at California State University at Fullerton. A record
search for sacred lands will be requested from the Native American Heritage Commission,
Main Office: 1801 Parkcourt PI., B102, Santa Ana, CA 92701 ph 714-245-0264 fx 714-245-0054
Field Offices: Inland Empire, Central Coast, Bay Area toll free 888-497-0700 www,cogstone.com
