CITY OF SANTA ANA ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES I TRAFFIC MAY 21, 2007 Our Project Managers and Task Managers receive bi-monthly system -generated effort reports on manpower and expenses —helping them establish a clear picture of project cost, cost control effectiveness, and schedule —all tools they need to keep projects moving ahead. For short-term assignments, Task Managers will maintain off line tracking methods. To monitor that each task order has sufficient available staff, our project managers use a workforce cast -ahead system to forecast project workloads for the following week, month, and six months. We then compare the projected workload to our resources. With this system, we can efficiently allocate staff and resources to each project and meet deadlines. If any issues or problems arise, Serine will address them directly and immediately. She will meet with the City to identify any issues and concerns. Recommendations will be developed after gathering information and performing necessary analyses. When several solutions or recommendations are identified, these will be discussed with the City, as needed, before developing a final recommendation. This collaborative approach allows the City to fully evaluate options and trade- offs. QUALITY CONTROL/QUALITY ASSURANCE Along with timely performance, we are also committed to providing quality services. Kimley-Horn strives to achieve a level of excellence in production and performance for all projects. Over the years, we have developed and implemented a detailed Quality Control/Quality Assurance. program within the firm, tailored to suit each project we undertake. Our Quality Control Manager, J.D., will be responsible for developing an independent internal program of quality control reviews to achieve the performance objectives of the City and the firm. WORKING WITH PUBLIC AGENCIES AS AN EXTENSION OF THEIR STAFF Our engineers and planners understand how to communicate and work with the public, providing them opportunities to establish their priorities and buy into solutions for their concerns and issues. We know how critical meaningful public involvement can be to a project, and we have proven ability to effectively assist you with this process. Similarly, virtually all of our traffic engineering work puts us face-to-face with agency committees, commissions, and councils. These interactions require careful listening, flexibility in approach and technique, confidence, and relevant experience regarding customizing solutions to traffic challenges.
