Award a contract to All American Asphalt, the lowest responsible <br />bidder, in accordance with unit bid prices in the estimated amount of <br />$1,989,989 for construction of Main Street Rehabilitation and Water <br />Main. <br />2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost <br />of $2,486,100. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The segments of Main Street from Walkie Way to North City Limit, Stn <br />Street to 18th Street, and Columbine to Sunflower Avenue have been <br />identified as a high priority on the City's Pavement Management System <br />(Exhibit 1). The pavement is deteriorating due to weather, age and heavy <br />usage. Some of the adjacent curbs, gutters, sidewalks and driveway <br />approaches are also in various states of disrepair and require <br />replacement. <br />This project provides for construction of new street pavement, and <br />replacement of damaged concrete curbs and gutters. This project will <br />also replace deteriorated and undersized water facilities. <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on August 1 and 3, 2007, and bids <br />were opened on August 30, 2007. A summary of the bid invitations mailed, <br />the bids received, and the bid results follow. <br />23A-1 <br />
