Resolution No. 2007- <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING <br />THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FROM <br />THE CALIFORNIA RIVER PARKWAYS GRANT PROGRAM <br />UNDER THE WATER SECURITY, <br />CLEAN DRINKING WATER, COASTAL AND BEACH <br />PROTECTION ACT OF 2002 (Proposition 50) <br />TO ENHANCE EDNA PARK <br />Iss09/25/07 <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br />A. The Legislature and Governor of the State of California have provided <br />funds for the California River Parkways Grant Program for recreational acquisition, <br />restoration, protection and development of river parkways; and <br />B. The State Resources Agency has been delegated the responsibility for the <br />administration of the program, establishing necessary procedures; and <br />C. Said procedures established by the State Resources Agency require the <br />City of Santa Ana to certify by resolution the approval of application(s) before <br />submission of said application(s) to the State; and <br />D. The City of Santa Ana, if selected, will enter into an Agreement with the <br />State of California to carry out the project(s). <br />Section 2. The City Council approves the filing of an application for the <br />California River Parkways Grant Program, in the amount of $400,000, to enhance Edna <br />Park by installing native landscaping, irrigation and trail amenities such as bike racks, <br />seating areas and interpretive signage; and <br />Section 3. The City Council certifies that Applicant understands the <br />assurances and certification in the application; and <br />Section 4. The City Council certifies that the City has or will have available <br />prior to commencement of any work on the project(s) included in this application, <br />sufficient funds to operate and maintain the project(s) consistent with the land tenure <br />requirements; and <br />55B-3 <br />
