Award a contract to All American Asphalt, the lowest responsible <br />bidder, in accordance with unit bid prices in the estimated amount <br />of $2,219,936 for construction of Santa Clara Avenue, and <br />Seventeenth and Bristol Streets. <br />2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost <br />of $3,052,600. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The segments of Santa Clara Avenue between Grand Avenue and Tustin <br />Street, Seventeenth Street between Fairview and Bristol Streets, and <br />Bristol Street between Memory Lane and North City Limits have been <br />identified as a high priority on the City's Pavement Management System <br />(Exhibit 1). The pavement is deteriorating due to weather, age and heavy <br />usage. Some of the adjacent curbs, gutters, sidewalks and driveway <br />approaches are also in various states of disrepair and require <br />replacement. This project provides for construction of new pavement, and <br />replacement of damaged concrete curbs, gutters, driveway approaches and <br />curb ramps. Once completed these improvements will enhance the ride <br />quality, surface drainage and visual appearance of the streets. <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on September 9 and 10, 2007, and <br />bids were opened on September 27, 2007.
