<br />15509/25/07 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2007-072 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR <br />GRANT FUNDS FROM THE CALIFORNIA RIVER <br />PARKWAYS GRANT PROGRAM UNDER THE WATER <br />SECURITY, CLEAN DRINKING WATER, COASTAL AND <br />BEACH PROTECTION ACT OF 2002 (Proposition 50) TO <br />ENHANCE THE 17TH STREET TRIANGLE <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br /> <br />A. The Legislature and Governor of the State of California have provided <br />funds for the California River Parkways Grant Program for recreational <br />acquisition, restoration, protection and development of river parkways; and <br /> <br />B. The State Resources Agency has been delegated the responsibility for the <br />administration of the program, establishing necessary procedures; and <br /> <br />C. Said procedures established by the State Resources Agency require the <br />City of Santa Ana to certify by resolution the approval of application(s) <br />before submission of said application(s) to the State; and <br /> <br />D. The City of Santa Ana, if selected, will enter into an Agreement with the <br />State of California to carry out the project(s). <br /> <br />Section 2. The City Council approves the filing of an application for the <br />California River Parkways Grant Program, in the amount of $187,000, to enhance the <br />1ih Street Triangle by installing native landscaping, irrigation and trail amenities such <br />as bike racks, seating areas and interpretive signage; and <br /> <br />Section 3. The City Council certifies that Applicant understands the <br />assurances and certification in the application; and <br /> <br />Section 4. The City Council certifies that the City has or will have available <br />prior to commencement of any work on the project(s) included in this application, <br />sufficient funds to operate and maintain the project(s) consistent with the land tenure <br />requirements; and <br /> <br />Section 5. The City Council certifies that it will comply with the provision of <br />Section 1771.8 of the State Labor Code, regarding payment of prevailing wages on <br />Projects awarded Proposition 50 Funds; and <br /> <br />Section 6. The City Council certifies that the Project will comply with all <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2007-072 <br />Page 1012 <br />
