<br />ARTICLE I <br /> <br />1.0 RECOGNITION <br /> <br />1.1 Pursuant to the provision of the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act, <br />Government Code Section 3500, et seq., the City of Santa Ana <br />(hereinafter called the "City") has recognized the Santa Ana <br />Police Officers Association (herein called the "Association") <br />as the recognized representative of the bargaining unit which <br />includes police department employees in the sworn, "safety- <br />member" classifications and assignments of Police Officer, <br />Senior Police Officer, Police Sergeant, Senior Police Sergeant <br />and in the non-sworn, "miscellaneous-member" classifications <br />and assignments of Animal Control Officer I and II, Background <br />Investigator, Communications Services Officer, Dare Officer, <br />Darkroom Technician, Detention Officer, Firearms Examiner, <br />Forensic Specialist I and II, Forensic Services Supervisor, <br />Parking Control Officer, Police Communications Supervisor, <br />Police Community Services Specialist, Police Investigative <br />Specialist, Police Property and Evidence Specialist, Police <br />Property and Evidence Supervisor, Police Recruit, Police <br />Service Assistant, Police Service Officer, Police Services <br />Dispatcher, Rangemaster, Detention Supervisor, Senior Parking <br />Control Officer, and Traffic Services Specialist and excludes <br />all other employees of the Police Department. <br />
