<br />described in Subsection A of this Section, provided that <br />said employee first gains approval for said use by the <br />executive board of the Association in the manner <br />specified by its rules as adopted from time to time, and <br />subject to the approval or disapproval of the Police <br />Chief consistent with the operational needs of the Police <br />Department. <br /> <br />C. No withdrawal or use of such bank may be made by or on <br />behalf of an employee ordered to take time off without <br />pay for discipline imposed by the Police Chief or his <br />designee. <br /> <br />8.16 Declaration of State of Emerqency. Emergencies shall be <br />governed by the provisions of Santa Ana Municipal Code Section <br />9-194. <br /> <br />8.17 Compensation of Voluntary Contract Overtime. Exclusive of <br />other provisions of this Article, except Section 8.7 (No <br />Effect on Other Benefits) supra, Police Officers and Police <br />Sergeants who voluntarily agree to perform contract security <br />services at games, parades, dances and similar public events <br />shall be compensated at the rate of one and one-half (1 1/2) <br />times the employee's regular rate of pay. <br /> <br />The Police Chief shall determine how many off-duty police <br />officers should serve as security officers at each event. <br />Police Officers and Sergeants represented by the Association <br />shall be given first opportunity to volunteer for said off- <br />duty assignments. If, after a reasonable period of time, an <br />insufficient number of police officers have volunteered to <br />work such assignments, the Police Chief may offer the <br />remaining "openings" to any person (s) he deems capable of <br />performing the work at whatever straight-time pay rate the <br />City considers to be appropriate. <br /> <br />32 <br />
