<br />11. 3 <br /> <br />11.4 <br /> <br />11. 5 <br /> <br />regardless of residence; <br /> <br />C. Any other relative of the employee by blood or <br />marriage where it can be established by the <br />employee that as a result of such relative's <br />death, the employee's presence is required. <br /> <br />Military Leave. <br /> <br />A. Proof of Orders and Reinstatements. An employee <br />shall be granted military leave if he or she <br />furnishes the Chief Personnel Officer satisfactory <br />proof of his or her orders to report for duty. <br />Upon return and upon showing proof of actual <br />service pursuant to such orders, he or she will be <br />reinstated as provided in Section 9 -143 of the <br />Santa Ana Municipal Code. <br /> <br />B. Temporary. Members of the reserve forces of the <br />Uni ted States, or the National Guard, granted <br />temporary leave when ordered to duty, in <br />accordance with the Military and Veterans Code and <br />Section 9 -144 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code, <br />will be granted leave with pay not to exceed <br />thirty (30) calendar days in each calendar year <br />after one yearls service with the City upon <br />presenting satisfactory proof of orders to and <br />from such temporary active duties. <br /> <br />Jury and Witness Leave. When an on-duty employee is <br />called to serve as a juror or a non-party witness in any <br />court action he or she shall be allowed leave for the <br />time actually required for such service, without loss of <br />pay. Each on-duty employee called for such service shall <br />present to the Police Chief for examination the subpoena <br />calling him or her to such service and shall pay into the <br />City Treasury the fees collected for such service, with <br />the exception of reimbursement for transportation <br />expenses, if any. Refer to Departmental Order 396 - Jury <br />Duty for specifics. <br /> <br />Examination Leave. Employees participating in <br />examinations conducted during their normal working hours <br />for positions in the competitive service of the City of <br />Santa Ana will be granted leave with pay for the time <br />actually required, without loss of any accrued vacation <br />or compensatory time off benefits. <br /> <br />44 <br />
