I have enjoyed the privilege of serving in the capacity of Career Counselor, also referred to as the Wellness Coordinator or Counselor, at the W /O /R /K Center since October 1997. The customer base has been those seeking employment and /or training a On° (and formerly JTPA) andtindividual�enrolled ine enrolled in Workforce Investment Act ( ) programs other related programs, such as those in collaboration with the Department of Social Services work experience and EDD's TRA and TAA programs. Customers include multiethnic, multicultural, and economically disadvantaged populations. This role began with the primary responsibility of helping people in need of and who desired Personal Counseling as they psychologically struggled with their unemployment status. Over the years, my responsibility expanded to include Career Counseling, Vocational Assessment, and Pre - employment Skills Testing. In implementing these functions, I regularly consult with appropriate Center staff when necessary or helpful, with customer consent, to coordinate services and optimize success. Additional relevant experience that eminently qualifies me for this position includes six -years of Vocational Counseling and Assessment for two community college districts; community college Matriculation Counseling for three years; and 17 years of providing Mental Health Services in various roles including direct care, social work, private practice and consultation, and employee assistance; and one year of JTPA case management. Educationally, I have earned a bachelor's degree in psychology, master's degree in counseling, completion of a four-year post graduate training program, and have completed and, on an ongoing basis, continue to
