Martinez, <br />Metzler, Price, Reyna (7) <br /> <br />BOARD TASK FORCE REPORT <br /> <br />Budaet and Proaram Task Force <br />Chair Bloom-Ramos noted that at the last meeting of the task force, they <br />discussed a local community venture bank, however HUD raised some <br />concern relative to any investment in the venture at this point <br /> <br />Education Task Force <br />Director Hernandez noted that the task force is reviewing collaborative <br />efforts relative to English language development <br /> <br />COMMENTS <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS - None <br /> <br />STAFF MEMBER COMMENTS - Empowerment Zone Manager Deborah <br />Sanchez noted that she had received notice from Director Anton that he <br />would be resigning in February, 2007; she further noted that staff was <br />working with Directors Martinez and Russo to find a director for Zone 3 <br /> <br />BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS - Director Alvarez congratulated Director <br />Russo on her recent appointment to the position of Superintendent for the <br />Santa Ana Unified School District <br /> <br />WORK STUDY SESSION <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />EDUCATION AWARENESS CAMPAIGN IN THE EMPOWERMENT ZONE <br /> <br />Chair Bloom-Ramos recommended the creation of an Educational <br />Marketing Ad Hoc Committee comprised of members: Alvarez, Fraser, <br />Hernandez, Bloom-Ramos, and E. Martinez.
