Additionally, City Charter Section 901, which was amended by the
voters in November, 2006, provides that two consecutive unexcused absences
would result in the vacation of a board or commission position.
Examination of the attendance report for the period April, 2007 - September,
2007 revealed that one member of the Library Board and two members of the
Youth Commission exceeded the number of allowable unexcused absences. One of
the Youth commissioners and the Library Board member have subsequently
resigned from their respective positions. The second Youth Commission member
wishes to remain on the commission and will submit her excuse to the
Commission for its approval at the next scheduled regular meeting of the
Youth Commission.
At this time, the only action required by the Council is to receive and file
this report.
FISCAL IMPACT
There_is no fiscal impact ssociated with this action.
-~~~ - ~'
Patricia E.
