REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />NOVEMBER 5, 2007 <br />TITLE: <br />QUARTERLY REPORT OF CONTRACTS <br />ENTERED INTO BY THE CITY MANAGER <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 1St Reading <br />^ Ordinance on 2"d Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Receive and file the Quarterly Report of Contracts entered into between <br />July 1 and September 30, 2007 valued at $25,000 and less. <br />DISCi7SSZAN <br />On November 7, 2006 the voters approved a Charter Amendment increasing the <br />authority of the City Manager to enter into contracts and agreements up to <br />a value of $25,000. Section 421 of the Charter requires the City Manager to <br />report to the City Council quarterly on the contracts entered into under <br />his authority for information purposes. The report is required to include <br />the names of contractors and the amounts of each contract. <br />Exhibit A is a listing of all purchase orders, agreements and change <br />notices entered into between July 1 and September 30, 2007 valued between <br />the amounts of $500 and $25,000. Unless included under a blanket contract, <br />the City as a general rule does not purchase goods and services valued <br />under $500 through either a purchase order or an agreement.
